Velvet attracts dog hair, allowing it to cling with ease, while the rough texture makes it difficult to remove hair even after washing. Flannel and jersey knits come with the same issues. Crochet and lace detailing, pin tucking and tufting in comforters and duvets create pockets and holes to trap dog hair. Silk, while offering an exceptional slip and softness, easily snags under even a well-manicured dog’s nails; while it may repel hair, it won’t last long with a pet sharing the bed. What Happens When a Dog Reverse Sneezes $179.99$129.99 I am a Pastor from South Carolina and I stand on God's Holy Word which says: While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 Many people today struggle with believing something that they cannot see. Well if you need to see to believe, this Tuff Bed is for real. My baby is a 90 lb. Doberman, and he has destroyed every bed I have purchased for him until now! After I placed this Tuff Bed in his brick dog house, I would peak in every day expecting to see it torn to pieces, but it is still like new after 3 weeks. I have already purchased another Doberman that I will have in a few weeks, which means I will be ordering another Tuff Bed soon. Excellent Product! This bed is so huge i could sleep on it with him. I have had 3 danes on it at once no problem. The padding is the best i have seen in a pet bed. Literally it's like a Serta Memory Foam Mattress. My dane no longer sleeps on the couch when i go to bed he only goes to his bed with out whimpering. He absolutely loves it. Chat with us! The founding breed of what is now the Labrador Retriever was the St. John’s Water Dog from the lesser Newfoundland. It was in New Foundland, Canada in the 1800s that they were used by the fishermen to jump into the icy waters and help them pull in their fishing nets. They also assisted by towing ropes from one boat to another and towing dories. The fishermen called them “small water dogs”. It is said that the Earl of Malmesbury saw some fishermen with their small water dogs and he was so impressed by their skill in retrieving just about anything from the water, that he had some of these wonderful dogs exported back to England where he bred dogs for duck hunting. After seeing the skill and agility of these small water dogs, he devoted his entire kennel to developing this breed. It was then that the dogs were named “Labrador”, after the geographical region of England. It was soon after this that the Labrador Retriever began its reign as retrievers or “gun dogs,” as they were then called. He has started to tear apart the embroidery though, which in hind sight, we probably should have done without. The cover shows a lot of dirt too (ordered the blue), so would have ordered a darker color. He also loves the tennis ball you sent! Thank you! © 2018 LoveTheBreed.com. If he's left alone for too long, he'll probably tarnish his saintly reputation: A lonely, bored Lab is apt to dig, chew, or find other destructive outlets for his energy. Labs show some variation in their activity levels, but all of them need activity, both physical and mental. Daily 30-minute walks, a romp at the dog park, or a game of fetch, are a few ways to help your Lab burn off energy. However, a puppy should not be taken for too long walks and should play for a few minutes at a time. Labrador Retrievers are considered "workaholics," and will exhaust themselves. It is up to you to end play and training sessions. Labs have such good reputations that some owners think they don't need training. That's a big mistake. Without training, a rambunctious Lab puppy will soon grow to be a very large, rowdy dog. Luckily, Labs take to training well — in fact, they often excel in obedience competitions. Start with puppy kindergarten, which not only teaches your pup good canine manners, but helps him learn how to be comfortable around other dogs and people. Look for a class that uses positive training methods that reward the dog for getting it right, rather than punishing him for getting it wrong. You'll need to take special care if you're raising a Lab puppy. Don't let your Lab puppy run and play on very hard surfaces such as pavement until he's at least two years old and his joints are fully formed. Normal play on grass is fine, as is puppy agility, with its one-inch jumps. Like all retrievers, the Lab is mouthy, and he's happiest when he has something, anything, to carry in his mouth. He's also a chewer, so be sure to keep sturdy toys available all the time — unless you want your couch chewed up. And when you leave the house, it's wise to keep your Lab in a crate or kennel so he's can't get himself into trouble chewing things he shouldn't.
